1 1 9X-4594 Lip Type Seal Do not lubrie the sealing lip.
4 1 166-4375 Seal Gp Use the following procedure in order to install the seal group:
Only use clean water or P-80 to lubrie the parts.
The seal installation tool is part of the replacement seal group.
1. Use seal installation tool with hand pressure to install the rubber seal (2) and the ceramic ring (3) as a unit into the pump housing assembly.
2. Remove the spring from the seal group.
3. Use the seal installation tool with hand pressure to install the seal group onto the shaft until the seal faces make light contact.
4. Install the spring onto the seal group.

Note: Intermittent leakage of a small amount of coolant from the weep hole is not an indiion of water pump seal failure. Seepage is normal to ensure proper lubriion of the face of the water pump seal. Replace the water pump if excessive leakage is observed from the weep hole in the water pump housing.

Identify the orientation of the bolts for the hose clamps for installation purposes. Loosen hose clamps (1) and (2). Slide the hose from cover (4).
Remove bolts (3) and cover (4) .

Remove bolts (6) from the front housing. Remove water pump (5) .

Remove O-ring seal (7) from the water pump.
B - - Clearance between the impeller and the water pump cover is 0.5000 0.4925 mm (0.01968 0.01939 inch).
C - - Distance from the impeller to the face of the pump housing assembly is 31.6526 0.4425 mm (1.24616 0.01742 inch).
5 1 149-5462 O-Ring Seal Before assembly, lightly lubrie the bore with glycerin or an approved equivalent.
6 1 212-8180 Pump Drive Shaft As Lubrie with a thin film of clean engine oil before pressing the impeller onto the shaft. The end of the shaft must be flush with the face of the impeller within 0.00 to 0.30 mm (0.000 to 0.012 inch).
7 1 5H-6734 O-Ring Seal Before assembly, lightly lubrie the bore with glycerin or an approved equivalent.
8 4 0S-1594 Bolt Torque to 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft).
9 1 3D-2824 O-Ring Seal Before assembly, lightly lubrie the bore with glycerin or an approved equivalent.
10 1 7G-8478 Adapter Torque to 100 10 N m (75 7 lb ft).
11 3 9S-8752 Full Nut Torque to 27 4 N m (239 35 lb in).
