Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publiion, NENG2500, " Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Turn the fuel supply to the "OFF" position.

Disconnect harness assembly (2) from the fuel temperature sensor.
Disconnect hose assembly (3), (6), and (8) from fuel filter base (4) .
Disconnect tube assembly (5) from fuel filter base (4) .
Use Tooling (A) to remove fuel filter (7) from fuel filter base (4) .
Remove bolts (1) that fasten the fuel filter base to the cylinder block. Remove fuel filter base (4) .
